Comal is a civil/structural engineering and construction firm that has participated in numerous house elevation and mitigation reconstruction projects. Comal’s success is due in part to our ability to offer quality service for each phase of house elevation and mitigation reconstruction projects (administration, assessment, design, engineering, inspection, and construction).
- Comal Design Group, LLC was formed in 2014 and has offices in Florida, Texas, and North Carolina.
- Comal’s President’s structural engineering, design, inspection, and construction experience dates back to 2002.
- We have Professional Engineering licenses in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia.
- Comal has designed and engineered numerous home elevation and reconstruction projects.
- We have participated as an engineering inspector in home elevation and mitigation reconstruction programs in Brazoria County, TX, Jefferson County, TX, and the state of Florida through “Elevate Florida.”
- Comal participated as an elevation contractor in multiple home elevation grant programs.

OUR STORY
Comal Design Group is established. Initial work focused on residential engineering and inspection.
Comal began offering engineering services to the home elevation industry in the greater Houston and Southeast Texas area.
Comal is accepted as an engineering inspector in Brazoria County, TX as part of their HMGP Home Elevation Program (RFSQ #20-27 Structural Integrity and Independent Inspection Services for Flood Mitigation Home Elevation).
Comal is accepted as an Elevation Contractor in Jersey Village, TX as part of their FMA Home Elevation Program (RFQ: TWDB – FMA Program Home Elevation Services).
Comal is accepted as an Elevation Contractor in Orange County, TX as part of their FMA Home Elevation Program (RFQ-TF-2022-2 Flood Mitigation Assistance – Residential Construction Services for Housing Elevations).
Comal is accepted as an engineering inspector in Jefferson County, TX as part of their FMA Home Elevation Program (RFQ 22-050/MR Structural Integrity and Independent Inspection Services for Flood Mitigation Home Elevation).
Comal is accepted as an Elevation Contractor in Jersey Village, TX as part of their FMA Home Elevation Program (RFQ: TWDB – FMA Program Home Elevation Services).
Comal is accepted as an Elevation Contractor in Conroe, TX as part of their FMA Home Elevation Program (RFQ: TWDB – FMA Program Home Elevation Services).
Comal is selected by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) to participate as and Engineering Inspector in “Elevate Florida”.
Comal is accepted as an Elevation Contractor in Brazoria County, TX. Our role as Engineering Inspector stops so that our role as Elevation Contractor can begin.

Home Elevation projects have been our primary focus since the Fall of 2017. We have performed the engineering and design for these types of projects. Our team has been the engineering inspector in federally funded Home Elevation Grant Programs. We have also been the Elevation Contractor for both privately funded projects and projects in federally funded Home Elevation Grant Programs. Clint obtained his Civil Engineering degree from Texas A&M (May 2002) and is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the states of Florida (#96962), Louisiana (#47958), North Carolina (#52637), Texas (#98376), and Virginia (#402064085). He is an Appointed Qualified Windstorm Inspector (AQI) through the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) (Jan. 2019). His structural engineering expertise extends into other industries as well as he is a Principal Author for the “Structures” section of the 12th Edition International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) Drilling Manual.
